You have an important choice when you are evaluating training: "Should I go with the training that
is written by the vendor (i.e. Microsoft) or should I seek an independent training provider?" On
the surface, many people would think, "Well, the vendor wrote the software so they would be the
most logical to go to for training." Not so fast!
Here's a typical scenario: The VP of Marketing for the vendor gets on the phone with their training
development department: "We did a lot of market surveys and customers are
really excited about this new feature. We need you to add a whole bunch of training on it."
Do you really want your users' training needs determined by your vendor's marketing department?
No! The "fair and balanced" option is to go with a third party training solution (ahem...
like LearnItFirst).
